Oil Mist Collection Solutions for Makino Machine Tools

Makino machine tools are well known for their high speed performance.   These high speed cutting operations require a large volume of cutting fluids aimed directly at the cutting surface.  A prime example is the Makino a51.  This unit features an extremely fast spindle response, high acceleration performance and an overhead shower coolant system.

MakinoAs you can imagine, an overhead coolant shower creates a tremendous amount of oil mist.  By using  the Trion Mini Mist Eliminator, you not only remove the coolant oil mist, but you can also reduce your energy costs with the variable speed control feature.  Set the Mini M.E. on its lowest setting and slowly turn up the dial until the smoke and mist is eliminated.  By keeping the air flow set as low as possible, you get the benefit of maximum filtration with minimal energy costs.

Makino’s machining centers feature advanced manufacturing technology for state-of-the-art applications worldwide.  Companies in the aerospace, automotive and die/mold industries utilize Makino’s innovative technologies.

Mini Mist Collector Helps Save Money On Kia Machine Tools

Kia produces many heavy-duty machine tools that require cutting fluids in their operation.  When purchasing an oil mist collector, one of the concerns is the hassle and cost involved in filter replacement.  This problem can be solved by using a mist eliminator utilizing the science of electrostatic precipitation.

Kia SKT 250MS machine toolKia Heavy Industries has been providing high quality precision machine tools since 1976.  The Kia product line offers over fifty metal cutting machines to solve the needs of leading companies in the metalworking industry.  A good example of Kia quality is its SKT 250MS model.  The Kia SKT 250MS is a high performance machine built to do heavy cutting.  The Trion Mini M.E. solves the mist problem from the heavy cutting while offering additional savings with low resistance filtration. Unlike conventional media filter systems that can impede airflow, the MiniM.E. uses electrostatic precipitators.  Media filters work well with dust, but perform poorly when dealing with smoke and oil mist.  The Mini Mist Eliminator uses electrostatic collector plates to remove smoke and oil mist from the air.

This innovative system draws the coolant soaked air through a pre-filter to remove the largest particles.  The air then passes through an ionizing section that gives the mist and smoke particles an electrical charge.  The air passes through the collector plates, which attract the charged mist and smoke particles like a magnet. This air then exits through an aluminum mesh after-filter, returning clean air to your environment.

This system is really cost-effective because it frees up your maintenance people for more vital tasks and it eliminates the need for costly replacement filters.
